Amanda Dorey

Solicitor

Family Law and Divorce, Children

Location: Poundbury

Amanda is a Solicitor based in the highly respected Family Team at Battens Poundbury specialising in Family Law, and particularly Child Care matters. She dedicates all of her fee-earning time exclusively to Family Law.

Amanda qualified as a Solicitor in 2010 and initially worked in private practice acting for parents, children and grandparents dealing with issues including Divorce, Matrimonial Finance, Domestic Abuse and Child Arrangements. Amanda then spent several years as an in-house Child Protection Solicitor at Hampshire County Council, specialising in a wide variety of often complex Child Care cases.

Following this role, Amanda had a break from practising law, during which time she spent some time living abroad in France with her family, followed by a role as a Lecturer in Law in a College in Dorset.

Amanda has successfully helped many separated parents achieve Court Orders enabling them to spend time/live with their children, with a recent case involving assisting a Mother with having her children urgently returned to her care after they were removed from their schools and the area without any notice. Amanda works equally hard to achieve positive results for parents in Care Proceedings and has recently successfully assisted a Father in achieving reunification with his baby daughter following her removal by the Local Authority at birth.

Due to her varied background and career path, Amanda has gained a wide breadth of experience and skills, which enable her to assist and advise her clients with compassion, empathy, and professionalism. Amanda is a conscientious lawyer, who will work hard to help clients achieve a positive outcome in their case, whilst also ensuring she offers support and clarification of the process every step of the way.
