Emily is a Solicitor in our Private Client team currently working at our Sherborne office. She specialises in Will drafting, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Estate Administration and Elderly Care issues.

Emily joined Battens in May 2024 and has been based in the West Country since the completion of her Masters of Law and Training Contract. She qualified as a Solicitor in September 2021. She devotes all of her fee earning time to Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate as well as Declarations of Trusts for some property purchases.

Examples of cases that Emily has worked on:

  • Providing clear and easy to understand assistance to countless clients who wish to put in place Wills, even when their circumstances are complex or high value.
  • Giving support and sympathetic advice to recently bereaved clients. Providing them with options on the levels of assistance they require and guiding them through the minefield that can be Estate Administration.
  • Completing Lasting Powers of Attorney applications for clients which, upon completion, provides them with a peace of mind knowing their affairs will be in hand should they require additional support in the future.
  • Assisting clients by liaising with third parties when needed such as capacity assessment providers in cases where medical evidence is required to reduce risk of successful claims in the future.

Emily cares for each and every client making sure the advice she gives and service she offers is tailored to their specific needs. She is friendly and approachable and aims to make her clients experience as seamless and easy as possible.
