Robin James

Robin is a Solicitor in the highly respected Family Team at Battens, specialising in family finance on divorce and separation.

As a newly qualified member of the team, Robin is building her caseload and dealing with a variety of matters. Robin is dedicated to providing the best possible outcome for her clients and she strives to make the legal process as smooth, and stress-free as possible. Robin has an empathic approach to clients whilst remaining clear about the best way to proceed, and the possible merits of a claim.

Robin works closely with her clients and tailors her approach to each matter accordingly, ensuring that all her clients’ individual needs are met.

Robin completed her LLB Law degree at Bournemouth University before completing her LLM Masters & Legal Practice Course with the University of Law. Robin qualified as a solicitor in 2023 following her 2-year training contract at a well-respected law firm in Bournemouth.

Prior to her legal training, Robin worked for Children’s Services for 8 years, engaging with families and adolescents in crisis, coordinating teams of professionals to provide necessary support. This background has helped Robin to have a holistic approach to clients whose issues may be complex and multifaceted.

Robin is also a committee member of the Dorset Law Society providing training to local lawyers on topical issues which impact our day-to-day work.

In her spare time, Robin likes to keep fit and take part in local sporting events.
