“Home Sweet Home” Drawing Competition 2024
Battens Solicitors Drawing Competition Rules 2024
1. The Competition
Battens Solicitors (“we”, “us”, “our”) intends to contact various primary schools in the Somerset and Dorset areas to ask if pupils would like to draw or paint a picture that could be used in our new homeowner cards, with the idea being that the winning entry will be displayed on the front cover of those new homeowner cards.
The theme is “Home Sweet Home”, to capture the warmth and joy of a new home. Pupils will be encouraged to use any art supplies they like – pencils, colouring pens, paint, paper, watercolours. Let the imagination run wild. Pictures will initially be reviewed by a team within Battens and one picture will be selected as the winner.
2. Territory and eligibility
The Competition is open to primary school pupils up to and including the age of 11 at the time of entry. Each entry must be submitted on behalf of the student by a parent/guardian (including a teacher at the school if applicable) over the age of 18 who, in submitting the entry, agrees to and accepts these Competition rules. Only one entry per person is allowed. Entry to the Competition is free of charge. Please note that pupils are responsible for any costs incurred in creating and submitting the original picture (e.g. art materials).
3. Competition dates
Submission Deadline: Thursday 4th July. Winner Announcement: Tuesday 16th July.
We accept no responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or any other problem with any system, server, provider or otherwise that may result in any entry being lost, delayed or not properly received. The Competition will be judged during the week beginning Monday 8th July, and one picture will be selected to appear on the front cover of our new homeowner cards. The pupil who created the winning picture will be notified by Tuesday 16th July. The winner, and those judged second and third will each win an art set.
4. How to enter
Students must create an original picture based on the theme selected for the Competition and submit their picture to the school reception where all entries will be collected by Battens Solicitors on Friday 5th July.
The theme for 2024 is: “Home Sweet Home”.
On the back of each competition entry, please write down:
- Pupil’s first and last name
- The pupil’s age (as of 4th July 2024)
- The pupil’s school
- The title of the picture
5. Prizes and selection of winning entries
One winner will be selected by a panel of judges from within Battens Solicitors. There will also be a second and third place awarded. All decisions will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into. The winner will receive a Competition Certificate, an art set and the place for their picture on the front cover of our new homeowner cards. The second and third placed entries will each receive a certificate and an art set. Please note that no cash equivalent or alternative prize will be given.
